In collaboration with Klarna, the global fintech company and online payment platform used by millions of shoppers worldwide.
I created a series of animated loaders for the launch of The Anti-Algorithm, an art initiative developed in response to the growing “Sea of Sameness” shaping contemporary tech and fintech design.
As the first artist invited to collaborate on the project and the first artist Klarna has ever partnered with in this format. I developed a collection of 10 bespoke artworks integrated directly into Klarna’s online payment experience. During the checkout flow, the loaders temporarily transform a purely functional digital interface into a living gallery space viewed by millions of users worldwide.
The project explores the tension between automation and human expression at a moment when AI-generated aesthetics are increasingly flattening visual culture into something polished, fast, and interchangeable. Rather than pursuing generic perfection, the work embraces imperfection, emotion, experimentation, and narrative, qualities that emerge through lived experience and cannot be authentically replicated by algorithms.
Each loader was designed as a small moment of interruption within a transactional environment: a pause that introduces personality, atmosphere, and human presence into an otherwise utilitarian system.
