Jose Mendez is a Spanish illustrator and artist based in between London and Barcelona.
His interest in art started back when he was only 13 when he started doing graffiti.
He graduated with a graphic design degree in Madrid completing his last year of studies in Paris (ECV), in 2012 he moved to London where he did a master in animation at University of Arts London.
Since then, he focused on his illustration career developing a distinctive and unique style, creating a playful world full of badass characters, hand drawn typography, colourful palette, bold shapes, wavy line and great use of contrast.
Jose has been developing creative projects over the past years worldwide, taking him and his work to cities like New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Tokyo, Melbourne, Bali, and all around Europe. He has participated in street art projects and has made numerous collaborations with global brands such as Apple, Audi, BBC, Converse, Spotify, and The New York Times among many others.
He works in the fields of branding, product design and has develop installations and global campaigns where his work has been seen in billboards and in large screens including Times Square (NY) for a recent project he did with Invesco.
Jose enjoy painting large scale murals and has exhibited his art in galleries worldwide.
